Doctoral researcher / PhD student

The position is offered for a period of 3 years. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is part-time (60 % of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 60 %).


Your tasks include scientific services in research, specifically the analysis of human and murine dendritic cells in  pancreatic and ovarian cancer and the tumor microenvironment. You will use cutting-edge technologies like single-cell RNA-sequencing and high-dimensional flow cytometry, as well as bead-based immunoassays and co-cultures to investigate the function of dendritic cells in vivo and in vitro. Furthermore, you will be responsible to establish and conduct experiments in animal models.

The position is limited to a time period deemed adequate for the completion of a doctoral degree. As part of the assigned duties, there will be ample opportunity to conduct the independent scientific research necessary for the completion of a doctorate. The limitation complies to § 2, 1 WissZeitVG.


A completed university degree (M. Sc. or equivalent) in the life sciences is required. Expertise in Immunology and experience in multiparameter FACS Analysis is beneficial. Willingness to establish and conduct experiments in animal models is required. A certified competence to conduct animal experiments according to German or European law (e.g. FELASA B) is an advantage. Interest in bioinformatic analysis and experience with R are desirable. Good knowledge of German and English is essential.

Through your tasks or organizational assignment, your work is associated with patient care. Therefore, proof of immunization against COVID-19 and measles in accordance with the IfSG is required for this position.
