Qualification position with the objective of becoming a professor (postdoc)

The position is offered for a period of 4 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is fulltime with the option to extend for a further two years following a successful evaluation, with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13)

Tasks:

• scientific contributions to research and teaching in the area of medical microbiology, infection immunology and vaccinology and accquisition of external funding
• independent contributions to microbiological research and profiling in the field of processing and presentation of bacterial antigens in host cells
• close cooperation with the working groups of the Institute of Medical Microbiology and Hospital Hygiene
• supervision of medical and scientific doctoral students as well as Bachelor's and Master's theses
• in the Department of Medicine and Synmikro
• participation in ongoing research networks and graduate programmes of the medical faculty and Synmicro
• participation in the international profiling of the department

The position is limited to the period which is adequate to the duration of the qualification period. The qualification goal is a habilitation or an equivalent qualification required for a professorship. Within the scope of the assigned duties it will offer the possibility of independent scientific research for further qualification. The limitation complies to § 2, 1 WissZeitVG.

Profile:

• a university degree with above-average results university degree (Master, state examination)
• outstanding doctorate in the natural or life sciences on a relevant topic in immunology or microbiology
• first publications
• ability to work in a team, creative mindset as well as flexibility in the processing of changing activities within the scope of the range of tasks, in dealing with different groups of people and, if necessary, in terms of time
• willingness to work conceptually and project-orientated in the main research areas and in teaching at the institute
• proof of good German and very good written and spoken english skills
• qualification as genetic engineering project leader preferable
