The University of Marburg, founded in 1527, offers a variety of excellent programs of study for around 22,000 students and confronts the important topics of our time through excellent research across a broad spectrum of sciences.

The Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology, Section of Neuroimmunology, led by Prof. Dr. Clemens Warnke, is currently accepting applications for a:

In addition, inflammatory aspects of neurodegenerative diseases are also investigated. Our goal is to unravel disease-relevant immunological mechanisms and contribute to the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

We offer access to modern, fully equipped laboratory facilities and make use of core facilities providing state-of-the-art molecular and cellular biology technologies. Our work is closely linked to other research-intensive departments at the university that focus on inflammatory diseases.

The position offers opportunities for independent academic work in line with personal academic qualification goals. The contract is limited in accordance with § 2(1) of the German Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).

Profile:

  • MSc-degree or equivalent and completed PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Neurosciences or a related life science discipline

Disposition to own scientific qualification is expected.

We offer:

  • a stimulating, interdisciplinary research environment with strong clinical integration
