Research Assistant (Postdoc)

The position is offered for a period of 3 years. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13).

Research focus of the research group Cell Signaling and Dynamics is on angiocrine signaling, neuro-vascular interface, hematopoietic stem cells and especially vascular cell communication. Information about the research group can be found at:

The position will be filled by a temporary contract that is limited to the period which is necessary to gain further scientific expertise (such as the preparation for a subsequent qualification period). Within the entrusted tasks the opportunity for independent scientific work to obtain further personal qualification is given. The limitation of the contract complies to § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG.


  • MSc-degree or equivalent
  • PhD in biology or related disciplines
  • excellent knowledge of molecular biology
  • strong interest and experience in imaging, immunohistochemistry/histology, and image processing
  • excellent data analysis skills, including biostatistics, and written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team, high intrinsic motivation and enthusiasm for research, and willingness to pursue own scientific qualifications are expected 
  • Knowledge of zebrafish or mouse genetics is desired
