Research Assistant (Doctoral student)

The position is offered until 30th September 2028, if no former times of qualification must be considered. The starting date is 1st October 2025. The position is part-time (50 % of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 50 %).

Tasks:

  • scientific services in research and teaching, in particular
  • planning, conducting, and analyzing empirical studies
  • contribution to scientific publications
  • supervision of bachelor's and master's theses
  • participation in administrative tasks
  • teaching activities in Personality Psychology and Psychological Assessment

The position is limited to a time period deemed adequate for the completion of a doctoral degree. As part of the assigned duties, there will be ample opportunity to conduct the independent scientific research necessary for the completion of a doctorate. The limitation complies to § 2, 1 WissZeitVG.

Profile:

  • MSc-degree or equivalent in Psychology or a related discipline
  • excellent grades in Bachelor's and Master's transcripts, especially in the areas of Personality Psychology, Biological Psychology, and Psychological Assessment
  • strong interest in Personality Psychology and neurobiology of affect
  • good knowledge of German is an advantage
  • solid knowledge of experimental psychology
  • experience with psychophysiological measurement methods (e. g. EEG) or programming skills (e. g. Matlab, Python, R) and initial experience in publishing and presenting research findings are an advantage

Disposition to own scientific qualification is expected.
