Postdoc

The position is offered for a period of 4 years if no former qualification times must be considered. An extension by 2 years is possible after a positive evaluation. The starting date is April 1, 2025.

The position is full-time with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state of Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13). If Civil Service Law provisions permit, a temporary Civil Servant status as "Akademische Rätin” or “Akademischer Rat" is possible (A 13 HBesG).

Tasks:

  • scientific services in research and teaching, particularly in the fields of Applied Microeconomics
  • independent conceptualization and drafting of a research proposal

The position is limited to a period adequate for the duration of the qualification period. The qualification goal is a habilitation or an equivalent qualification required for a professorship. It will offer the possibility of independent scientific research for further qualification within the scope of the assigned duties. The limitation complies to § 2, 1 WissZeitVG.

Profile:

  • MSc-degree or equivalent in economics and a PhD in Economics (at least graded magna cum laude)
  • demonstrated very good knowledge of Applied Microeconomics
  • teaching experience in various formats
  • very good English language skills (at least C1)
  • experience in the publication process, evidenced by at least one publication in a peer-reviewed economics journal (minimum category 2 in the ABS Journal Ranking in Economics)
  • connection to the research of the working groups on Public Finance and/or Institutional Economics

Disposition to own scientific qualification is expected.
